30 Days in Turkey
This Summer we will spend 30 days in Turkey! This will be split into 3 different teams of 5 (including a leader), each going for 10 days. Come and experience a country rich in Christian history and ripe with Gospel opportunity. The trip will focus on sharing the good news of Christ with Muslim locals, as well as strengthening and encouraging new followers of Jesus living out their faith in a context where Christianity is frowned upon.
Below is some important information about the trip. Please review before applying:
- Passports must not expire within 6 months of the trip. To get a new one will take 30-90 days unless expedited.
- All groups will fly into/out of Adnan Menderes Airport in Izmir. Depending on what happens with each group will determine where we go. This could mean follow up, pioneer evangelism in an unknown area, or venturing out into a mass village outreach effort.
- Each group will see some similar/different sites and do things differently according to where we go. For example, from Izmir one group may hug the Aegean coast northward toward Assos/Troy witnessing as we go/come more secular minded. Another team may go south from Izmir toward the Mediterranean visiting Miletus and fishing/mountain villages. The other group may go inland to the Lake District near Antioch of Pisidia where there are ski resorts, hiking, and more conservative attitudes. Each area/village will have its own dynamic. One group may take the very long ride to Antioch and back. Regardless, we will witness as we go.
- All participants’ desire to see ancient Christian historical sites will be filled.
- Everyone needs to be vaccinated.
- Fundraising goal will be ~$4,000
Trip Dates:
- Team 1: May 15 to May 24
- Team 2: May 25 to June 4
- Team 3: June 5 to June 15
