Experiencing the Voice of God
There is nothing like experiencing things we’ve learned about to give us that “ah hah” moment. For example, my father told me the ins and outs of driving a manual shift truck. Things like, “Give it a little gas while you let off the clutch.” But it wasn’t until I actually got in the truck and felt it beginning to pull as I did what he told me that I really “got it”.
Over the years I have noticed a gap that exist between what many followers of Jesus have learned and what they have experienced. In many ways this leaves us lacking that “ah hah” moment in areas of our faith. A lot of our growth happens as things are “caught” rather than just taught.
Throughout the summer we will be having various “Training Experiences” designed to close the gap between what we have learned and what we have experienced. One of the areas we often lack experience of what we’ve been taught is in listening for and hearing God speak. On July 16th from 6-8 PM we will be getting together in the KK auditorium to discuss what it means hear God’s voice and to spend time seeking Him together. This Training Experience will be limited to the first 15 people who sign up. Light refreshments will be provided.
