Week Zero: Getting started with your Triad

The goal of this session is for you, the Triad leader, to feel prepared before starting your Triad. Remember, you're not doing this alone! Rely on the Holy Spirit to lead you as you prepare - and don't forget to pray!

Before starting your Triad, make sure prayerfully work through each item listed below: 

  • Get to know the "Equip Guide" tools. These are here for your success! 
  • Watch the video to the left, explaining how to use the website.
  • Check out Week One to get familiar with the content. 
  • Don't skip over the "Links/Downloads" section under Going Deeper and Additional Resources. 
  • Don't miss out on the podcast each week - these are to help you prepare before meeting with your Triad.
  • Find a Bible Reading Plan
  • Throughout the Equip Guide, you'll notice a weekly check-in regarding a "Bible Reading Plan".  
  • Which Bible Reading Plan you chose is completely up to you! Our suggestion is to find one that lasts a year or less and covers the whole Bible. 
  • One good option: The Bible Recap Chronological Plan [WEBSITE HERE]
  • Another good option: The Bible Project Reading Plan (with helpful videos for each chapter/topic!) [WEBSITE HERE]
  • Another good option: Navigators Book-at-a-Time Plan [WEBSITE HERE]
  • Cover everything in Prayer!
  • Who will you invite into the Triad? Pray about it! 
  • How will you know what to say? Pray about it!
  • You're anxious/nervous/excited to get started? Pray! About! It!
  • Trust in the Lord - not in your knowledge or experience. 
  • Remember that this Triad belongs completely to God! All good that can (and will!) come from it, is due to God's grace.
  • Lean on the Holy Spirit. He knows better than you do!
  • If you base your Triad on your performance, you will become burnt out and overwhelmed. If you base your Triad on what God has done, is doing, and will do - then you'll be able to enjoy watching Him work!
  • God can and will show up if you invite Him in!
  • Set realistic expectations for yourself and your Triad. 
  • Some seasons will be crazier than others. That's okay! Take a week off if you need to. 
  • Don't forget that we are all broken people living in a broken world. Always extend grace. 
  • At the end of the day, this is all about Jesus! Don't lose focus!
