Following Jesus can feel like another way to prove ourselves when we forget what he has already done. In John 12:20–36, Jesus describes a seed that dies and bears fruit, then calls his servants to follow him. In this week’s message, Brandon explains that taking up our cross is a response to salvation, never a payment for our sin. Jesus has already carried that burden. As we trust God’s goodness, surrender our own way, and bring our lives into line with his Word, we honor the One who saved us. Together, our lives can display his glory and bear fruit that points others toward Jesus.
