The Vision | Week 2 | Isaiah 61:1
July 16, 2011

Brandon Williams explains Isaiah 61:1 as a call for the church to keep reaching people who do not know Jesus. He warns that inward focus can replace the mission God has given His people. Describing life apart from Christ as spiritual poverty, brokenness, bondage and darkness, Brandon points to the riches, healing, freedom and light found in Jesus. He urges believers to share the gospel while meeting physical needs, welcome hurting people with compassion and celebrate those who come to faith. He calls listeners to recognize their need for grace, surrender daily to God and value people as they follow Christ.
