On The Rocks | Foundations | Matthew 7:24–29

Brandon Williams uses Jesus’ picture of a house built on rock to explain why marriage needs the foundation of God’s Word. He traces God’s covenants through Scripture and presents Christ’s faithful love as the pattern for relationships. A spouse cannot supply the happiness, satisfaction or security that belongs in a relationship with Jesus. Brandon challenges couples to replace manipulation and selfish expectations with unconditional love, service and trust. Husbands are called to lead by serving, while both partners pursue God’s mission together. He encourages couples to value one another, renew their commitment and trust God to restore marriages built on broken foundations.
