When frustration rises, it can be easier to prepare our response than to truly hear another person. James 1:19 calls us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, especially when life presses us. In this week’s message, Jon challenges us to begin by listening to God, seeking his wisdom, and examining our assumptions. As we listen with empathy, we can make room for experiences that differ from our own and pray for what others are actually carrying. Speaking with courage still matters, but listening first helps us put God’s Word into practice in our homes, conversations, and communities.
