Forgiveness can feel impossible when the hurt is real and the memory won’t let go. In Matthew 18:21–35, Jesus tells of a servant who receives mercy but refuses to extend it to someone else. In this week’s message, Brandon shows how receiving God’s forgiveness frees us to forgive and participate in Jesus’ mission of restoring relationships. Forgiveness does not excuse harm, erase memory, or require returning to abuse; reconciliation involves both people. As we remember the grace we have received in Christ, we can begin releasing resentment, entrusting the offense to God, and taking the next step toward freedom through his power rather than our own.
