He Is… | Week 5 | John 13

In John 13, Jesus kneels to wash his disciples’ feet, revealing the love that will lead him to the cross and setting an example of humble service. His willingness to serve even the one who will betray him challenges us to consider whom we are willing to love. We serve because Christ has loved and accepted us, not to earn a place with him. As we receive his cleansing and find our identity in him, gratitude can move us beyond merely consuming to meeting others’ needs. Following our servant King means offering our lives in our homes, our church, our community, and the world.
