God Gave | Christmas Eve | John 3:16-21, John 3:1-2

In John 3, Nicodemus comes to Jesus with religious knowledge and standing, yet discovers his need for a new birth that only God’s Spirit can give. His questions invite us to examine whether we are relying on religious activity or receiving the life Christ offers. God loved the world enough to give his Son, making a way for us to come out of darkness and into the light. As we acknowledge our sin and place our trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection, we receive the hope of life with him. Christmas calls us to respond to this gift with faith and a willingness to follow.
