Followers of Jesus: Week 3 | Matthew 16:24

It’s easy to agree with Jesus’ words without letting them change the way we live. In Matthew 16:24, Jesus calls his disciples to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow him. This week’s message invites us to consider what wholehearted discipleship requires. Salvation is freely given, while following Jesus calls for surrendering our own way and putting his purposes first. That surrender reaches our priorities, possessions, and daily choices. As we listen to his Word, ask where we are holding back, and respond to the Holy Spirit, we can begin using what God has entrusted to us to serve and strengthen his people.
