Faith and Fear | Week 6 | 1 Samuel 17
June 17, 2017
There are burdens we cannot lift by trying harder. In 1 Samuel 17, Israel’s helplessness before Goliath becomes a picture of our need for a Savior. This message traces how David’s victory points to Jesus, who took our place and defeated sin and death through the cross and resurrection. Drawing on Romans 3 and Hebrews 10, it reminds us that salvation is God’s gift received through faith, and his Spirit changes us from within. We’re invited to respond to what Christ has already done: trust him, take the next step he reveals, and consider baptism, serving others, or letting someone pray and walk with us.
