Uncertainty about the future can keep us from taking the step in front of us. In 1 Samuel 17:33–40, David trusts God’s faithfulness and prepares to face Goliath with the tools he knows. Drawing also from Joshua’s journey, this message explores how God’s direction gives purpose and courage to ordinary lives. Our gifts and past experiences can help us recognize where he is inviting us to serve. As we listen through Scripture, persist in prayer, and seek counsel from trusted believers, we can begin with what God has already shown us and take the next obedient step, trusting his faithful presence along the way.
