Faith and Fear | Week 2 | 1 Samuel 17:25-31
May 20, 2017

How do we stay tenderhearted when life keeps rubbing us the wrong way? In 1 Samuel 17:25–31, David faces his brother’s criticism without letting it pull him away from what God has called him to do. This message explores the friction within us, between us, and through difficult experiences, then points toward surrender to God and forgiveness shaped by Christ’s grace. Forgiving does not excuse what happened, and submitting to others never requires doing what is harmful or sinful. We’re invited to remember how deeply we’ve been forgiven, anchor our identity in Jesus, and take a first step toward releasing bitterness with the Holy Spirit’s help.
