Difficult relationships can reveal how much we need the grace we hope to show others. In 1 Peter 2:11–3:15, we are called to live for God’s kingdom, letting our conduct make the gospel visible. Jesus bore our sins and entrusted himself to God, opening the way for forgiveness and a different way of living. This message calls us to honor authority while obeying God, practice mutual respect in marriage, and answer hostility with compassion. It also makes clear that submission does not require remaining in abuse. Through the Holy Spirit, we can turn from sin, release condemnation, and share the hope of Christ with gentleness and respect.
