When relationships become difficult, it’s easy to focus on what we need and overlook the person beside us. Through Philippians 1–2, this message explores a marriage shaped by unity, humility, and the self-giving love of Jesus. Christ took the place of a servant and gave himself for us, showing how love uses its influence to lift others up. His Spirit supplies the power to follow that example. As we return to Scripture, pray honestly, seek encouragement in community, and take obedient steps, we can learn to serve and sacrifice together, allowing our marriages and other relationships to reflect God’s character and point people toward him.
