Broken | Week 1 | 1 Samuel 8
October 10, 2015
In 1 Samuel 8, Israel demands a king like the surrounding nations, seeking security and significance while rejecting God’s leadership. Their desire exposes a struggle we share: expecting people, possessions, or position to give us the fullness only God can provide. Even good gifts become idols when they take first place in our hearts. This message invites us to examine what rules our lives, remember God’s faithfulness, and find our identity in Christ. Lasting change begins with his grace working within us. As we turn to Jesus in repentance and trust, we can receive his love and live as people set apart to share it.
