We may feel too ordinary or too marked by our past to help someone else follow Jesus. In 1 Thessalonians 2:1–13, Pastor Billy explores Paul’s example of leadership shaped by dependence on God, sincere motives, and deep care for people. The Holy Spirit gives believers the desire and strength to serve. Leading means sharing our lives, practicing what we teach, and encouraging others as they grow. It requires humility and integrity, with no place for greed or manipulation. We’re invited to notice the people already within our influence, take a step toward faithfully serving them, and find joy in seeing their faith become stronger.
