180/Turn Your Life Around | Applying the Word | Nehemiah 1:1-9
June 19, 2010
Knowing about God is different from knowing Him personally. Milan Turner explores Nehemiah 1:1–9, where Nehemiah responds to his people’s distress through prayer, repentance and confidence in God’s covenant promises. Comparing Scripture to a playbook, he challenges us to prepare for life by studying and obeying God’s Word rather than opening it only when something goes wrong. The message describes Scripture as seed that brings life, exposes sin and shapes our character. Daily time in the Word and prayer helps us know, experience and understand God. As His Word works in us, growing faith, love, patience and endurance become visible evidence of a life transformed by Jesus.
